“Promises” – Partial Fulfillment

When promises come to pass it is easy.

What do you when the promises at best are lingering in your life?

We all have recv’d promises

When promises go unfulfilled it hurts.

Promises get your hopes up – Prov. 13:12

Broken promises make your heart sick.

Sick hearts and broken promises are no respecter of age.

There are promises like I will take you for ice cream if make good grades.

Then there are HUGE promises, Especially from God

What about the promises of God?

God is the initiator and we are the responder.

God gave the Shunamite woman a son. weed

The promise died

She brought the promise back to the prophet

Elijah tried 5x’s to bring the miracle back to life

Your promise is not the you but abbot the promised

The promise is not about you but about the promiser. s

It doesnt do any good if you have a “happy clappy” meeting and you drop the baton of faith.

Lay a side every weight so you can carry the baton of faith.

Lay aside the good things that are not God things.

Don’t listen to what others say about you. Listen to what God says about you.

Previously in my last blog I made mention of the graduation season. This is the time of year we recognize the achivements of students from kindergarten to seniors in college as they are promote to the next grade level or careers. I am reminded by the wisest person to ever live, Solomon and his writing of Ecclesiastes. In chapter 3 of Ecclesiates Solomon deals with the fact there is a specific time for everything. He begins with birth, and ends with terms relative to war. I believe he is encouraging us to embrace the changes that come into our lives. How well are you handling your change (graduation) appointments?

In everything we need to trust God that He is faithful to provide in which we need. God sees the coming broken hearts, hypocrites, and challenges that are heading towards our lives. He is helping us to get ready for the major changes heading right for us. We get prepared by handling the smaller and insignificant daily challenges. The ability to handle the smaller battles is regular practice to prepare for the major ones that are he aded dead center for us. So the question of this blog is how are you graduating up in your life? Don’t just get by to make another year, or season, but determine that you are not going to live half alive.

God wants you to have life in its full abundance. In order for the abundant season to come we have to be willing to planted and pluck up spiritually. There is a time to cry and shout, as well as to speak clearly and hold your tongue. Whatever season of life is blowing on you now, please choose to make time for the One who makes the seasons, so you can graduate. Not just graduate, but graduate w/ honors!
Go for Well Done Good and Faithful!

The conGRADulations season is upon us. What an achievement to graduate from high school. The current school year is coming to a close and teens & children are expecting a full Summer of fun. Have fun but please don’t lose your direction for your life. God has a plan for our lives if will listen and obey the Holy Sprit. 1 Cor. 14 tells us not become so knowledgeable in the things the world offers, but keep focused and doing out best to live out loud in a realtionship with Jesus Christ. Please do ALL you can to protect your relationship with Christ.

I must say that as each year passes illuminate goes to a whole new level. It is always fulfilling to see how God takes a year of plans, changes to the plans, & last minute ideas and ties them all together so perfectly with His anointing & power. It’s a humbling experience to see teens run by the dozens to the altar of God in complete & total surrender to Him. I can truly say that twenty20 youth has been illuminated to live their lives for Christ with Kingdom authority.

God, Country, Freedom

I believe that our culture today takes for granted the freedom that we have as citizens of the United States of America. Today is Veteran’s Day 2011. The brave men & women of our Nation’s Armed Forces give their lives daily to protect and defend our freedom to live as we desire. I am grateful to them and their families to make that priviledge possible.

As a Christian I am thankful for the freedom that Jesus provided for mankind on the cross. True freedom comes only through being free in who are through a relaitonship with Jesus Christ. God’s love for us is so much that we can not do anything to stop that love flowing from God to us. God’s love for us is not based our performance, but who he is! We can never get away from God’s love according to the Bible.

Thank you God for allowing me to live in a free country and a life free from guilt and shame.

I recently had the priviledge to take a few days off and head for the hills of the great state of Tennessee. MY family and I were hoping to see major leaves changing, but we were a little early for that. We still had a nice time together. While we were there through a couple of different instances the enemy of our souls Satan, tried to rob us of the joy of justing getting a way and relaxing. As a matter of fact I had told my family we all need to agree with what the Bible says, “that no weapon formed against will prosper or succeed. (Isaiah 54:17) The enemy was just after our joy. This was actually my first time to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN area. I had been in other parts of that state and the Smokey Mountains, but for some reason never that specific area. Can I say it is breathtaking without the colors of the leaves changing. God knew what he was doing when he made the mountains.

During a couple of the days while there we thought we would hike up the mountains. We did hike them for a mile or two. At the base of one of the trails up the mountain there was specific instruction on what to do if you saw a bear. My kids FREAKED! The instruction were clear ; 1. Do NOT run the bear will chase you. 2. Throw objects such as rocks or big limbs at the bear. 3. Make a lot of noise and make yourself look bigger than you are. 4. Don’t stand in the middle between a cub and the Momma bear. We still hike up the mountain for a couple of miles anyway.

Sound familiar? Isn’t that just like Satan? Isn’t it just like him to make himself in your daily life larger than he really is? More powerful that he really is? He makes a lot of noise at us. He will go after you as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. ( 1 Peter 5:8). Satan can only take the power that you give him through your words, attitude, thoughts, & actions. I often joke that if a bear was chasing me all I have to do to get away and survive it to out run the slowest person in the group. But the truth is I would put my family and others before myself for their safety. That’s the way we need to live everyday as unto Christ. Romans 12 tells us how to be true salt & ligt in the world……treat your enemies better than yourself. That is genuine love. Genuine love is pure joy! Thanks for reading…..

The Strong Will

Have you ever been told that you have a strong will. Usually that is someone’s nice way of saying your stubborn & selfish. Having a strong will is not necessarily a negative thing. People who have strong wills are opionated and in control. I would like for you to comnsider a being strong willed in a different way.

John 6:38 of the Bible declares; that Jesus was sent to do the will of the Father. Why was Jesus sent to do that? What is the will of God? I’m glad you asked. Jesus is the substance(bread) of life. Whoever feeds on the breed of Jesus will live forever. Jesus came under a higher authority. Jesus came to please his Father and do His will. That will is for Jesus to be your bread of life. Your substance. Jesus came so you would have a reson to keep going on. Talk about a strong will. The will of God the Fahter is that no person will end in permanent death. It is the will of the Father that all should choose life.

We can choose life by not arguing, grumbling, and complaining, to those people we are close to and stop talking about those people we don’t know anything about. It is call the “strong will” for a reason. Strong will’s keep coming back, that’s what makes them strong. Today surrender tour will to Jesus Christ so that your will becomes wweak and His becomes the strong one. I don’t know about you but I want the will of God to be the stronger one.

For me to say that I’m very very excited about how God has been pouring out the Holy Spirit on us lately is an understatement. I am beside myself! God is doing some incredible things in the Wednesday night youth services and Sunday morning services. He is allowing us to experience a hint of His presence. With that hint of His presence we as a church are witnessing broken lives being restored, the hopeless receiving hope, and people being baptized in the Holy Spirit. In other words “nothing is impossible” with God!

“In the Last Days,” God says, I will pour out my Spirit on every kind of people: Your sons will prophesy, also your daughters; Your young men will see visions, your old men dream dreams. Acts 2:17 -MSG

When we desire to be in the presence of God more than we desire what is in His hand we have a relationship with God. Think about how the Messgae Bible puts it.

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Matt 6:30-33 – Msg

I l ike what the Amplified Bible states in Luke 13:26-27 about doing works in the name of Jesus but not knowing Him.
“But He will say, I tell you, I do not know where [what household--certainly not Mine] you come from; depart from Me, all you wrongdoers”! We need to be in the household of faith. I want to be what the book a Psalm describes as those that are planted in the household of faith will flourish. My sole desire is for God to know me because I am from His Household, where he sees me all the time and knows me, and I know Him.
